Calculation of the Digits of πby the Spigot Algorithmof Rabinowitz and WagonThe spigot algorithm for calculating the digits of and other numbers have been invented by in 1991 and investigate by in 1995. The algorithm generates the digits sequentially, one at a time, and does not use the digits after they are computed. Among other sources, the algorithm is described in a very weill written book by.The fundamental idea is that of base conversion. In fact the outputs one digit at a time as a true spigot algorithm. The great insight was to recognize some of the many known formulas for π as representations of that number in exotic positional system and undertake the task of converting them to the decimal representation. Both representations are thought in the form utilized by Horner's method. E.g., in the decimal system we have (1)√ 2= 1.41421.= 1 + 1/10 ( 4 + 1/10 ( 1 + 1/10 ( 4 + 1/10 ( 2 + 1/10 ( 1 + 1/10 (.
)))))),π= 3.14159.= 3 + 1/10 ( 1 + 1/10 ( 4 + 1/10 ( 1 + 1/10 ( 5 + 1/10 ( 9 + 1/10 (. )))))),But was there a positional system in which π was known? Rabinowitz has realized, there indeed was such a system albeit an unusual one. The starting point was the series. This last expression is a representation of π in a system with a mixed-radix base b = (1/3, 2/5, 3/7, 4/9.).
As the formula shows, in this system the representation of π is exceedingly simple: π = (2; 2, 2, 2.) b. However, conversion runs into complications due to the radix not being constant. It may (and does) happen that the algorithm spews as a decimal digit the number 10. In this case, 1 should be carried to the previous digit and, if the latter is 9, even further left. The algorithm accounts for this circumstance. Spigot Algorithm for π.
Initialize: Let A = (2, 2, 2, 2.,2) be an array of length 10n/3 + 1. Repeat n times:Multiply by 10: Multiply each entry of A by 10.Put A into regular form: Starting from the right, reduce the ith element of A (corresponding to b-entry (i - 1)/(2i - 1)) modulo 2i - 1, to get a quotient q and a remainder r. Leave r in place and carry q(i - 1) one place left.
The last integer carried (from the position where i - 1 = 2) may be as large as 19. Get the next predigit: Reduce the leftmost entry of A (which is at most 109 (= 9 - 10 + 191)) modulo 10. The quotient, q, is the new predigit ofπ, the remainder staying in place. Adjust the predigits: If q is neither 9 nor 10, release the held predigits as true digits of π and hold q. If q is 9, add q to the queue of held predigits.
If q is 10 then:. set the current predigit to 0 and hold it;. increase all other held predigits by 1(9 becomes 0);. release as true digits of π all but the current held predigit.( argued that it takes 10n/3, where is the, digits to calculate n decimal digits. Found an inaccuracy in their derivation and changed that to 10n/3 + 1, the value used in the applet.).
This applet requires Sun's Java VM 2 which your browser may perceive as a popup. Which it is not. If you want to see the applet work, visit Sun's website at download and install Java VM and enjoy the applet.(In the applet 'Chunk' and 'Font size' are output formatting parameters. The digits of π are grouped into chunks for easy reading.
The applet enforces a limitation of 50,000 digits - more than a world record some 50 years ago. Elsewhere there is a based on another idea of.) References.

PermissionsEx (PEX) is a new permissions plugin, based on Permissions ideas and supports all of its features. But PEX is more!
It offers different backends, powerful ingame management, fine grained restrictions for world modification.Like PermissionsEx? To support its future! Please use forum for help/discussions.Current features. Support for UUIDs as of version 1.21.
Several backend support. Currently bundled backends is File (YAML) and SQL (MySQL, SQLite).
Also it's possible to add your own. YAML backend, with new, fully rethinked, config schema. Now all user, groups and their permissions are stored in one file - permission.yml. File name can also be adjusted. SQL backend, most delicious. Currently MySQL and SQLite supported, but other DB (like Postgre) are possible too.
PEX deploys the DB scheme (tables and initial data) automatically. This means, that you only need to provide data on how to connect to the db, everything else PEX will handle by itself. Flexible architecture and API - you can change a lot programmatically. Rich chat/console command interface. You can do almost everything ingame.
Command list below. Modifyworld - Permission-based restrictions mechanism (we call it 'modifyworld'), which provides the possibility to control players abilities, such as destroying/placing blocks, riding carts/boats or even getting spotted by mobs and much more. Available from. Multigroup inheritance. User, as well as Group, can be member of several groups. And inherit their permissions, options and prefix/suffix.
Permissions based upon Regular Expressions. This mean you can use regular expressions. Example: modifyworld.blocks.(destroy place).(3 12) - this permission allow place or destroy only sand (12) or dirt (3) blocks. There is still limitation on dot usage in your regexps - dots are escaped by default. Raw regex flag is also available and explained on the wiki. Multiworld permissions.
Just don't specify world and permission would work in any world. Multiworld inheritance.
You can inherit different groups in different worlds. Perfomance friendly. Low-level caching helps a lot when you have 100+ online users.
Promotional/Demotional system. You can assign ranks to groups and promote/demote users to higher/lower ranked group. NEW: new you can make serveral ranking ladders. World-inheritance - permissions/option of one world can be inherited by another world. Timed Permissions - you can give user permission only for some amount of time. As of version 1.21.1, PermissionsEx automatically updates to keep you up to date with the latest bugfixes and new features. The automatic update functionality will only perform updates between minor releases (for example only 1.21.1-1.21.2, not 1.21.3-1.22).
To disable it, set the updater option to false in plugins/PermissionsEx/config.yml. Bukkit Permissions (SuperPerms) compatible.YourKit supports open source projects with its full-featured Java Profiler.YourKit, LLC is the creator ofand, innovative and intelligent tools for profiling Java and.NET applications. The PermissionsEx team uses YourKit to analyze performance and is thankful for their continued support of open-source software. To disable error reporting, create a file called `report-disable` in the plugins/PermissionsEx folder. Note that enabling this option means you WILL NOT get any support for errors because the information published (permissions file, configuration, and versions) is essential to resolving issues.
